Legal Innovators New York returns November 17–18 for its second edition. This year, it's trading law firm offices for a dedicated conference venue in Midtown Manhattan to accommodate an expected 700+ attendees, bringing together law firm leaders, in-house counsel, and legal technology professionals.
This year's program focuses on how law firms and corporate legal departments are moving AI beyond pilot projects, into everyday legal work. Discussions will examine where AI is changing legal workflows, how firms are measuring its impact, and what these changes mean for client relationships, legal service delivery, and firm operations.
This guide covers what to know before you go, what to expect from the program, and how to plan your time. Check the official Legal Innovators New York agenda for the latest session and speaker updates.

Understand the Two-Day Format
Legal Innovators New York splits its audience by day, and every session runs on one stage. With no parallel tracks, nobody has to choose between rooms. The decision is which day fits your role, and how to use the breaks.
Law Firm Day (November 17) is built for private practice: firm leadership, innovation and knowledge teams, and the people who run technology and operations. This is the day for firm leaders who want to compare their AI strategy with other firms.
In-House Day (November 18) is built for general counsel, legal operations and corporate legal teams. It is also useful for law firms. The in-house leaders in the room decide which outside firms they use and write the Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs) those firms bill under.
If you can attend only one day as a law firm leader, choose Law Firm Day. If your largest clients are actively changing how they buy legal services, In-House Day shows where those changes start.
What to Expect From the Legal Innovators New York 2026 Agenda
Legal Innovators New York's 2026 program is organized around six themes spanning AI transformation, collaboration between firms and clients, litigation technology, contracting, and agentic AI.
Day | 2026 Themes |
|---|---|
Law Firm Day | Transformation Gets Real · Digital Bridges: The New Era of Collaboration · Litigation Revolution |
In-House Day | In-House Is Taking the AI Lead · A New Paradigm for Contracts · The Agentic Legal Function |
AI Transformation: From Pilots to Daily Work
The Law Firm Day theme, "Transformation Gets Real," examines how AI is changing legal work now that firms are deploying tools beyond controlled experiments.
The focus is shifting from whether firms are adopting AI to which workflows have changed, how widely those changes have taken hold, and whether they are producing measurable improvements in productivity and efficiency.
For law firm leaders, the most useful discussions will be those that connect adoption to measurable outcomes. Listen for examples of how firms evaluate AI investments, compare performance before and after implementation, and identify where the technology is delivering a return.
Collaboration Between Law Firms and Clients
"Digital Bridges: The New Era of Collaboration" looks at how AI is changing the relationship between law firms and corporate legal departments.
The theme explores shared data, AI-enabled workflows, and greater standardization in how firms and clients work together. For law firm leaders, it raises important questions about how legal services are delivered, how to demonstrate efficiency, and how client expectations may influence pricing and service models.
Litigation Technology
"Litigation Revolution" examines how AI is changing litigation beyond traditional document search.
The program will explore developments in eDiscovery, case law research, and litigation management, including how new tools affect the speed and structure of legal work.
In-House AI Adoption and Legal Operations
"In-House Is Taking the AI Lead" focuses on how corporate legal departments are deploying AI at scale and improving efficiency on their own terms.
For law firms, these discussions offer insight into how clients are changing their internal legal operations and which services they may increasingly handle without outside counsel.
Contracts and Agentic AI
The remaining In-House Day themes examine two areas of legal technology development: AI-assisted contracting and autonomous legal workflows.
"A New Paradigm for Contracts" looks at automated redlining, contract playbooks, and first-draft generation, with a focus on which approaches are proving effective.
"The Agentic Legal Function" explores how AI agents are being used to automate processes, build internal knowledge, and support self-service across legal departments.

Meet PointOne in New York
PointOne will be represented at Legal Innovators New York, connecting with law firm leaders on the future of timekeeping and legal AI.
Many of the questions being discussed at this year's conference come back to firm data. To measure AI's impact on productivity, evaluate profitability, or adapt pricing models, law firms need a complete and accurate record of the work their attorneys perform.
PointOne automatically records legal work across emails, documents, calls, and meetings, generating compliant, ready-to-invoice time entries for attorneys to review. This gives firms more reliable data to understand how time is spent, where efficiency is improving, and how AI is changing legal work.
