About PointOne
We're building an AI system to automate the business of law. The business of law is rapidly evolving under the influence of AI. We’re using AI timekeeping—and the rich data stream it generates—to help firms transition businesses into the AI era.
Our team is a mix of legal, AI, and startup backgrounds—from Fenwick & West, Applied Intuition, and Google. We recently raised a seed round from Y Combinator, Bessemer, 8VC, General Catalyst, and several of our early customers who asked to invest after using the product.
We’re growing fast and need someone to scale with us. This is your opportunity to help drive PointOne’s momentum—and build the systems to support it.
Who You Are
You bring 4–8 years of experience in high-intensity sectors—startups, consulting, strategy, or operations—where execution and ambiguity go hand-in-hand. You thrive in chaos, find order in complexity, and own outcomes from start to finish.
You also have:
A builder’s mindset: when there’s a gap, you fill it—whether that means owning a key hire, running a customer call, or executing a new marketing campaign
Relentless ownership: if you’re on it, it happens. No details slip through the cracks
The ease of toggling between big-picture strategy and hands-on execution
Proven ability to drive cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders
Comfort with data, research, and structured thinking to drive clarity
Clear, concise communication—written, verbal, and visual
Excitement to be in the trenches with the founders, in-person, at a high-velocity early-stage company
What You’ll Do
You’ll be a force multiplier for the founding team—scaling their capacity by 2x. You’ll bridge big-picture goals with flawless execution. You’ll be responsible for the execution of critical projects ranging from talent acquisition to client-facing operations, and those priorities will change rapidly as the company grows.
You will:
Drive company-level initiatives to completion—OKRs, launch plans, and priority workstreams
Own cross-functional projects end-to-end—from sales and ops to fundraising and product launches
Serve as a thought partner to the founders—aligning strategy, goals, and resourcing
Step into mission-critical gaps—from leading customer calls to refining fundraising materials
Build minimal, high-leverage processes to keep teams aligned and operating at speed
Track and surface key metrics and insights to drive accountability across the organization
Manage relationships with investors, advisors, and partners, representing the founders when needed
Support team growth by driving critical parts of hiring—from drafting JDs to coordinating candidate flow—so we attract and close top talent quickly
Create leverage everywhere—write, synthesize, and structure so the team can scale without sacrificing clarity
Day in the Life
As our first Chief of Staff, your day will shift fluidly between strategy and hands-on execution. A day might look like this:
9:00 AM. Partner with a founder on a critical hire—drafting the JD, designing interview structure, and ensuring the candidate experience is seamless
11:00 AM. Jump into a sales expansion conversation, take notes on pain points, and immediately draft a memo with next steps for our product and ops teams
1:00 PM. Roll out a streamlined OKR tracking framework to align the team on the quarter's top priorities
2:30 PM. Work with Product to translate customer feedback into a prioritized roadmap for the next release
4:00 PM. Review and resolve redlines on a partnership agreement with outside counsel to keep the deal moving forward
6:30 PM. Over dinner with the team, debrief strategic initiatives and brainstorm how to systematize onboarding as new hires join in the coming months
